Jared D Evans DMD, Pediatric Dentist

Jared D. Evans is a graduate of Southern Utah University. He received his dental degree from Nova Southeastern University. While there he served as Class President, President of the NSU Chapter of the American Student, Dental Association, and served on the American Dental Education Association's Council of Students.

In 2003, he was awarded certificates of merit and recognition from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. These honors recognized him as the most outstanding student in Pediatric Dentistry and Special Needs Dentistry. He was also awarded the Class of 2003 Community Service Achievement Award. After graduation he completed a two-year specialty residency in pediatric dentistry at Nova Southeastern University and Miami Children's Hospital where he served as Chief Resident his second year.

He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, the Washington Association of Pediatric Dentists, and the Spokane District Dental Society. Dr. Evans serves on the Spokane Maxillofacial Review Board and he is a Spokane County Champion for the nationally recognized ABCD Dental Access program. Dr. Jared Evans is a faculty member at the University of Washington's Dental School in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.

He and his wife Brandie have four children.

Becky Van Gemert DDS

Dr. Becky Van Gemert completed her undergraduate degree in 1998 at the University of Washington in Seattle. She then attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she obtained her DDS in 2002. While in school she worked as an orthodontic assistant and participated in a community outreach program in Muskeegon, serving underprivileged children. In 2002, Dr. Van Gemert moved to Farmington, Connecticut, where she practiced as an associate in a private practice seeing mainly children.

In 2005, Dr. Van Gemert moved back to the Spokane area. She volunteered on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile for a year providing free dental care to children and young adults. She worked part-time as a clinical instructor for Eastern Washington's School of Dental Hygiene while concurrently working in a private practice.

She is currently a member of the American Dental Society, the Washington State Dental Society, and the Spokane District Dental Society.

Dr. Van Gemert moved back to Spokane to be closer to her large family. She was raised in Spokane and attended Gonzaga Preparatory School. She loves living in the Northwest and enjoys running, biking, hiking, skiing and golf.

Erin Johnson DDS MS, Pediatric Dentist

 As a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Erin is Spokane's first, and only, female Board Certified Pediatric Dentist.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentists, the Washington State Dental Association and the Spokane District Dental Society. Dr. Johnson grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Calvin College in 2002. She was also an NCAA All-American swimmer. During college she worked as an assistant swim coach for the Grand Rapids Christian High School girls' swim team. Dr. Johnson received her dental degree from The University of Michigan in 2006 where she served as the school's representative to the American Student Dental Association. She also served as a student delegate to the Michigan Dental Association in 2004 and the American Dental Association in 2005. She recieved the American Student Dental Association's Award of Excellence in 2006, and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Academic fraternity in 2006. Dr. Johnson completed her Pediatric Dentistry training at the University of Michigan where she received both her Pediatric Dentistry Certificate and a Masters of Science in Denistry degree. Her research, while at the University of Michigan, focused on sedation in children's dentistry. She has volunteered her time to Give Kids a Smile and Special Olympics Special Smiles.

Dr. Johnson met her husband, Dr. Bret Johnson, a Spokane, Washington, native, while in dental school. They were married in July of 2008, and returned to Spokane to start their family. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Johnson enjoys many hobbies including swimming, running, skiing, traveling, cheering for Michigan football, and taking care of the family's Golden Retriever, Maizie.
